Why Buy a 3 Wheeler Buggy?
A three-wheel buggy is a fantastic option for those who like running in the morning. They have larger wheels that give a smoother drive, but they can be heavier and require a larger car boot.
Those wanting to use their pushchair for outdoor excursions should look at models with air-filled tyres (also known as pneumatic) as they are more able to withstand the rigors on rough ground and can have an swivelling front wheel that can be locked for greater stability.
What is a 3 wheeler buggy?
If you're off-road or in the city, a 3-wheeler offers the best maneuverability. They turn on a dime and are easy to maneuver and pass the rigorous tests of stability. A fabric sling sits comfortably inside the frame instead of sitting being placed on top of it as modular seats - this design has a lower centre of gravity to allow for more comfortable pushing and less slams on curbs (you don't have to put any effort or weight into popping your buggy over the curb). Mountain Buggy(r) even has a world first sport verso(tm) with a 3 wheelin' inline chassis that can grow with your family - from a parent's face infant carrier to toddler ride-on boards.
Are you going to go 'off road'?
It's important for those who love to explore off-road, and are more adventurous that their buggy can handle rough terrain. You need a sturdy suspension system that can take the impact of bumps, and big wheels that have air-filled tyres that give you a great grip on rough surfaces. A front wheel that locks is also a fantastic feature to ensure stability while running on harder surfaces.
MFM reviewer Kath really put this fun lovin' buggy to the test by driving it over rough grass, cobbles and dirt tracks with her newborn and 3 year old. She she said "it handled everything with ease and was even enjoyable to jog in with. The 16" rear wheels and locking "swivel" front wheel provide excellent stability on off-road trails or surfaces that are uneven. 3 wheeled pushchair have built-in springs to ensure an easy ride.
A first in the world; sport verso is an amazing single buggy that can protect your wallet in the future because it can easily take 2 (or more!) as your family grows all within the footprint of one buggy! The sling seats made of fabric are positioned snugly within the frame at the ideal height to evenly distribute weight. This makes for more ease of pushing and a less hefty curb-pop.
Are you looking to 'go out and about'?
A three-wheeler has one front wheel and two wheels at the rear and, depending on the model, the wheel will either be free to swivel or fixed in position so that the buggy only is able to travel in straight lines. Their USP is that they are extremely maneuverable and easy to steer and often come with suspension (which is useful for difficult terrain) and tyres with air-filled tyres, so the ride is smooth and comfortable. They are perfect for daily use in cities and can often handle kerb popping as well as taking off road.
However, just like any buggy, it's important to drive them responsibly and not be distracted by the mobile phone, tablet or other device. It is also important to avoid driving when under the influence of alcohol or drugs since it can influence your reaction times and judgment. Check the footprint of your buggy after it is folded in order to ensure that it can fit in your car.

If you are looking for a buggy to transport you from the park to the shops, you should choose one that has a large shopping basket, a robust brake pedal, and a huge sun canopy (50plus inches in diameter) with an extendable pole. MFM reviewer Kath particularly liked the fabric sling seat which features an automatic lie-flat bed for newborns, and felt the seating was positioned perfectly within the frame for an even weight distribution. However, she it was noted that the triangular frame does mean half the storage space of the four wheeler.
Do you want to walk in the park Do you want to go 'in the park'?
This 3-wheeler is perfect for urban adventures because of its incredible maneuverability. MFM reviewer Kath tried it out and found that it was able to navigate through bumpy sidewalks, grass and cobbles effortlessly. It was also able to handle the kerbs in town, because the seat sling made of fabric is perfectly positioned within the frame at a perfect height for weight distribution.
This buggy is great for jogging since it is equipped with lockable swivel wheels on the front and comes with a "snug & stretch' tyre that gives an extremely smooth ride while you're pounding the pavement. The only downside to the big wheels is that they may struggle to fit into smaller spaces when folded. Luckily, it comes with impressive storage features to make up for this! There's a large basket and a zip-up pocket at the back.
